Regarding the inclusion of Big Sean on the record, she added: "We tried different versions over the years and none of them felt quite right. I wrote it with Greg Kurstin (who I've worked with many times before) and Julia Michaels and I always knew there was something special about this song but it never really had a 'home'". I was coming to the end of the Delirium cycle and started on some ideas for the next record. Detailing the process behind the song, she said: "Truthfully, this song started life about 5 or 6 years ago.
